Retiring Melbourne veteran Brad Green has warned his teammates it's time to step up if they want to taste finals football.Green on Wednesday called time on his career after 13 seasons and says the most disappointing aspect is the club's lack of finals action since 2006.
The 31-year-old, who has played 251 games, is the remaining player from their last grand final appearance, a loss to Essendon back in 2000 which was his debut year.
He won the club's best-and-fairest award in 2010, was the skipper in 2011 and also captained Australia in the International Rules series against Ireland.
