Swift A Kennedy Wedding Crasher

The Boston Herald reports that Swift's boyfriend Conor Kennedy, the son of Robert Kennedy Jr and the late Mary Kennedy, had been invited to the wedding but did not RSVP.
The wedding was for Kyle Kennedy, the daughter of Victoria Gifford Kennedy and the late Michael Kennedy, who was Robert Jr's brother and is Conor's uncle.
Mrs Gifford Kennedy told the Boston Herald that Swift, 22, and her Kennedy beau, 18, were told that they were not welcome at the wedding.
"They texted me an hour before the wedding and asked if they could come," she told the paper.

Robert Pattinson To Play Lawrence Of Arabia

The actor has just been signed on to the Werner Herzog biopic on Gertrude Bell with the titular explorer to be portrayed by Naomi Watts.Having upped his credentials a notch by working with David Cronenberg on the just-released Cosmopolis, Robert Pattinson is now set to work with German director Werner Herzog on Queen of the Desert, with the actor signed on to play TE Lawrence, better known as Lawrence of Arabia.
The biopic focuses on the life and achievements of formidable Middle East adventurer Gertrude Bell played by Aussie Naomi Watts. Often described as the female Lawrence of Arabia, Bell was an explorer, writer, archaeologist and employee of the British Intelligence during the first world war, and her work in the Middle East established what would become the modern framework for Jordan and Iraq..

Melbourne named 'most liveable' city in world for second year in row

Melbourne and three other capital cities of Australia have been named among the world's most liveable cities in the world.
According to the Economist Intelligence Unit's Global Liveability Survey, Melbourne is the world's most liveable city with 97.5 liveability score followed by Vienna, Vancouver, Toronto and Calgary.
The survey's editor, Jon Copestake, said that just 1.6 percentage points separated the five Aussie cities surveyed.
Melbourne and Vienna led in infrastructure with '100' rating, while Vancouver, Toronto and Calgary were rated at 92.9, 89.3 and 96.4 respectively.

On Tuesday, Melbourne topped the Global Liveability Survey title for the second successive year and mayor Robert Doyle weighed in with a proposal that the city had the infrastructure in place to host a second Olympic Games.
"I don't think there'd be another city in the world not hosting the Olympics that is as well prepared as we are right now," Doyle told reporters less than 48 hours after London extinguished the flame of a successful but costly Summer Games.
"Think what we could do if we did dream large for 2024 or 2028."

The Sapphires has enjoyed the best opening for an Australian movie in almost two years, taking $2.32 million at the box office last weekend.The feel-good musical drama about an all-girl Aboriginal singing group sent off to Vietnam to entertain the troops has put a sparkle into an otherwise dull 2012 at the local box office, pulling in the biggest crowds since teen action film Tomorrow When the War Began opened with $3.86 million in September 2010 and beating the $1.78 million debut of last year’s runaway success story Red Dog.The Sapphires’ total gross now sits at $2.59 million, with distributor Hopscotch/eOne expecting it to reach $3.4 million by the end of the week.

There is no khaki in sight but plenty of animal co-stars to make Australia’s own wildlife warrior Bindi Irwin feel comfortable on the movie set of Nim’s Island 2 on the Gold Coast.
Bindi, in an exclusive on-set interview, said she instantly related to the lead role of Nim, who lives on a deserted island with her father Jack (Matthew Lillard) and best friends Selkie, a sea lion, and Fred, a bearded dragon lizard.
The 14-year-old said a highlight had been riding the two Sea World sea lions, who share the acting duties, and joked the sea lions “are better trained than me’’.
“Riding underneath the water has been the most incredible experience of my life,’’ she said.

British rowing won two Olympic gold medals in 20 minutes yesterday when the men’s four beat fierce rivals Australia and the women’s lightweight double shocked even themselves to take the title in thrilling scenes on Dorney Lake.
Confirming their position as the strongest rowing nation in the world, the British team then looked like they would make it three out of three when the lightweight men’s double stormed off the start to lead for the majority of their final.

Melbourne veteran Brad Green is set to announce his retirement from AFL at the end of the season.Retiring Melbourne veteran Brad Green has warned his teammates it's time to step up if they want to taste finals football.
Green on Wednesday called time on his career after 13 seasons and says the most disappointing aspect is the club's lack of finals action since 2006.
The 31-year-old, who has played 251 games, is the remaining player from their last grand final appearance, a loss to Essendon back in 2000 which was his debut year.
He won the club's best-and-fairest award in 2010, was the skipper in 2011 and also captained Australia in the International Rules series against Ireland.

Hollywood Composer Marvin Hamlisch Dies


OSCAR-winning composer Marvin Hamlisch, whose scores defined some of Hollywoods most iconic works, has died at 68.
Hamlisch collapsed and died on Monday after a brief illness, his publicist Ken Sunshine said on behalf of the family. Other details were not immediately released.

Robert Pattinson has come out of hiding, attending a cowboy dance in music club with friends on Friday night, RadarOnline.com has reported.
It said he was spotted at The Deer Lodge in Ojai, California, 90 minutes from the home he used to share with Kristen Stewart, who admitted cheating on him with director Rupert Saunders last month.
